Antique furniture buyer in Luxembourg
For three generations we have been buying antique furniture in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. A Louis XV chest of drawers, a Napoléon III secretary, a stamped armchair, an Art Déco dining table, a Belle Époque glazed bookcase — pieces we know how to identify, appraise, and acquire at a fair price.
What gives a piece of furniture its value
The period first (18th, 19th, early 20th century), then the condition (structural integrity, quality of patina, old or recent restorations). The signature of a cabinetmaker — Boulle, Riesener, Jansen, Ruhlmann — multiplies the value. The woods (solid mahogany, rosewood, fine wood marquetry), the bronze ornaments, and consistency with period models also matter.
A single piece of furniture rarely sells for the price of a coherent set. If you have several pieces from the same period, let us know: the overall value is often higher.
